Coach Pitch Softball

• Age range (as of start of season): ~5 1/2 to 7  1/2 months


Peanuts

• Non draft league
• Girls
• Age range (as of start of season): ~7 1/2 to 9  1/2
• Focuses on the fundamentals and mechanics of hitting, throwing and fielding, ultimately preparing them for the more competitive play in Minors.  The more experienced players typically will pitch while fundamentals are being developed with newer players.
• Peanuts generally splits its games between Gordon and Spring Ave, and the commitment usually involves one weeknight (5:30pm start) and one weekend game.  Coaches often will schedule a separate practice time each week, particularly earlier in the season.


For the older divisions, Little League’s softball age is defined as the girl’s age as of Jan 1 of the playing year. For example, if a player turned 13 on Jan 2, she would be considered softball age 12.


Minors


• Draft league
• Girls
• Softball age range: 9 to 11
• Minors’ games consist of 6 innings in which scores are maintained and standings kept.  The division is entirely player pitch with some assistance at times from coaches. Pitchers are allowed to pitch up to two innings per game and are monitored by pitch count for game-to-game usage control.  Players will rotate between the infield and outfield to promote development.   
• Minors generally splits its games between Gordon, Spring Ave, and Sedgwick, and the commitment usually involves one week night (typically 5:30pm start) and one weekend game.  Coaches often will schedule a separate practice time each week.
• District All Star team eligibility: Yes (10U/Minors)


Majors

• Draft league
• Girls
• Softball age range: 11 to 12
• Majors’ games consist of 6 innings in which scores are maintained and standings kept.  The divisions is entirely player pitch. Pitchers are allowed to pitch up to two innings per game and are monitored by pitch count for game-to-game usage control. 
• Majors generally splits its games between Gordon and Sedgwick, and the commitment usually involves one or two weeknights (5:30 or 7:30pm start. Coaches often will schedule a separate practice time each week. Due to the older age of the girls, we generally avoid Friday-Sunday games to allow for school events and travel softball.
• District All Star team eligibility: Yes (12U/Majors)


Juniors


• Draft league
• Girls
• Softball age range: 13 to 14
• At the Juniors’ level, our players typically play teams from other villages in Little League District 9.  
• District All Star team eligibility: Yes (14U/Juniors)
